Stage Work

Even though most of my work these days is behind the camera or the curtain, I actually started out on stage. My first role was Sleepy in Snow White when I was 8 and since then I've loved the theatre. I was on stage through most of high school and despite going to college for film and mostly working with cameras these days, I still love directing in the theatre.

Here are some of my recent stage directing endeavours.

And Then There Were None

by Agatha Christie

In the summer of 2010, I directed And Then There Were None. In directing, we took the approach that all the characters were guilty of murder and that they should all act accordingly, as a result, we ended up with a performance that had our audience guessing at every turn even as they watched on of the best known stories of all time.

A Little Murder Never Hurt Anybody
by Ron Bernas

In the summer of 2012, I was invited back to the theatre to direct the absolutely insane farce, A Little Murder Never Hurt Anybody. Since the show required a very minimalistic set, we decided to do the performance in the round and this worked incredibly well for a farce with people running in and out of the room. It also allowed for one of the funniest moments of physical comedy when our detective character spends about five minutes rolled up in a carpet only to unroll and land right at an audience member’s feet.
